2009 Teddy Bear Tea

I attended a Teddy Bear Tea given by four talented artists on April 4th, 2009, in Parkland, FL. The tea took place at Hidden Tea Secrets, which is a Victorian tea parlor. The four artists were Kay Atwood, Susan Harter, Carol Miller, and Jane Woodard.
We took over the entire tea room! As you walked into the tea room, there was a display of teddy bears for sale by the above four artists. I wanted them all! Such is the life of a bear collector. In addition to the bears for sale table, there was another table of bears for a raffle. In addition to bears from each artist, there was a mystery raffle bear in a bag.
Everyone had hats to wear at their seats, and each seat had a cute favor that included a thank you for attending note, a teddy bear cookie cutter, and a recipe. After chatting and admiring the bears for awhile, we were served a delicious lunch of salads, fruit and teddy bear shaped scones. Throughout the tea, we were offered various kinds of teas, like creme brulee.
At the end of the tea, the winners of the raffle were announced. Unfortunately, I did not win any of the bears, but the winners seemed thrilled. People picked out the bears they wanted to buy before anyone could claim them.
I want to thank Kay, Susan, Carol and Jane for a wonderful tea. I can't wait until next year!
