Panda cub let outside, but did not explore

Zoo Atlanta's baby panda
Zoo Atlanta’s baby panda, Mei Lan, was finally allowed outside, but she didn’t want to explore. Mei Lan, whose name means Atlanta Beauty in Chinese, is 6 months old and weighs 27 pounds. She was the only giant panda cub born an American zoo in 2006. She began her public appearances in January.
She peaked outside but then went back inside. Zoo officials want her to spend time outside because that’s where she would be in the wild. But visitors didn’t mind that she stayed inside because they were still oohing and ahhing. Hopefully she’ll explore another day.
