Bear statues stolen
Author: teddygirl | Friday September 15, 2006
Brown Bear Car Wash in Fife, Washington, had 40 bear statues that were custom-made in Thailand from bronze and copper, but thieves broke into the warehouse and stole them. The bears were worth $30,000 and weighed 125 pounds.
Company officials believe the statues were stolen so the thieves could melt them down for their metals. Brown is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the thieves.
