WSPA celebrates 25 years today

World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) celebrates 25 years in 2006. WSPA began on June 4th, 1981, and the organization is currently present in 140 countries.
In the past 25 years, WSPA has done some good things for bears. First, WSPA eradicated bear dancing in Greece and Turkey. Second, WSPA has funded and built bear sanctuaries in Greece, Hungary, India, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey, and the USA. Third, the Vietnamese Government agreed to phase out bear farming.
