NWF celebrates 70 years of protecting wildlife
Author: teddygirl | Tuesday April 25, 2006
At the USA’s first wildlife conference in Washington, D.C., in 1936, Franklin D. Roosevelt said that he wanted to “bring together individuals, organizations and agencies interested in the restoration and conservation of wildlife resources.” This was the beginning of the National Wildlife Federation (NWF), an organization that works to protect America’s wildlife.
NWF has fought to bring back species close to extinction, restore the purity of America’s waters, and recover wetlands.
