Hugging Bear Inn

Here is a review of my trip to the Hugging Bear Inn.
I stayed at the Hugging Bear Inn about 4 years ago during the summer and loved it! Unfortunately, we only stayed 1 night; I wish we had stayed longer. The charming inn is located in a 140-year old house in the small town of Chester, Vermont. When we made the reservation, we had to pick which of the 6 rooms to stay in (all are uniquely decorated) – what a tough decision. We finally picked the one that had just been redone. Some rooms are a koala theme and a panda theme. All the rooms have their own bathroom. I was able to peek in the koala and panda rooms, and they were cute.
When you drive up to the white house with light blue shutters, you can see bears from the outside. All the rooms have plenty of furry friends. The living room has a TV and plenty of activities. Or you can just relax and enjoy the bears. You walk up the staircase to get to your rooms. Our room was beary cute and clean. There is a teddy bear on every bed in every room so it’s hard to be lonely.
For dinner, we walked across the street to a restaurant called Raspberry and Thyme. The food and atmosphere were great! The salad dressing was delicious. I didn’t expect the place to be so good. I brought home some jar glasses. I wanted to take some salad dressing home, but I wouldn’t have made it for the rest of the trip because it had to be refrigerated.
When we got back from dinner, we went into the store with over 10,000 bears! This is teddy heaven! The store is divided into 4 rooms and there are tons of artists and manufacturers. I wanted take everyone home, but I decided to think about who I wanted to take home overnight.
In the morning, we ate homemade blueberry pancakes with fresh blueberries – delicious! After breakfast, we went back to our room for a little bit. Then we went down to the store. I ended up taking home many furry friends.
Everyone was so friendly during our stay. I loved this bed and breakfast and highly recommend it for bear lovers. The only problem is that you won’t want to leave!
You don’t have to stay there to purchase from the store. If you stay there, you get to shop later than the public.
